Pack 3449, along with the entire Boy Scout movement, takes Youth Protection very seriously. We know that you love your son and would never want anything bad to happen to him. Neither do we. In an effort to ensure the safety of all scouts in our pack, as well as any other scouts and children that may participate with us in activities, Pack 3449 has adopted the following policy:

In order to protect our Cub Scouts, their siblings, and all other children in our community, Cub Scout Pack 3449 requires all adults involved in our pack take Youth Protection Training and provide a copy of their certificate to their son's den leader. This applies to all leaders, parents, and volunteers involved in Pack 3449.

Youth Protection Training is online training that takes about 60 minutes to complete. In this training, you will learn about the Youth Protection policies of BSA, how to spot abuse, and how to handle and report violations of Youth Protection. There is no cost to take Youth Protection Training, and it can be taken by anyone, whether or not you are a registered adult.

Click here for more information on the BSA Youth Protection page. The Youth Protection Training program is available from the link on that page, or can be accessed directly at My.Scouting.org.

You need not be a registered member or have a member ID to take Youth Protection Training. To take YPT:

1.      Log into My.Scouting.org. From the menu on the left, click E-Learning.

2.      From the General tab, scroll down to Youth Protection Training and click Take Course.

3.      When you complete the course, print a certificate of completion to submit with a volunteer application, or submit the certificate to the unit leader for processing at the local council.

When your volunteer application is approved, you will receive a BSA membership card, which includes your member ID number. You must enter this member ID into your MyScouting profile so that your local council has a record of the training you have taken online. To do this, log into MyScouting, click My Profile, and enter your member ID number. This links your Youth Protection training, and any other MyScouting training, to your BSA membership.
